Entry #25 is recap of the Mamiya ZD performance during the past 6 weeks and after ~1500 clicks on the odometer. Overall the results have been pleasing and the Canon 1Ds Mark III was sold.

Some samples images taken with the Mamiya 200mm F2.8 APO and the Mamiya ZD. The 200mm APO is a manual focus from the Mamiya 645M line-up. There are trade-offs such as stop down metering; however, the 200mm is an excellent performer at a bargain price.

To use the latest Mamiya “D” lenses on the Mamiya ZD dSLR, the ZD needs firmware version 1.10 or higher. There is very little documentation on the web about the ZD’s firmware. This entry shows how you can find out if your ZD has the appropriate firmware loaded or not.

I purchased the new Mamiya 80mm F2.8 AF “D” lens for its AF/MF clutch ring and the new lens lens coatings optimized for digital use. I was unsure if the Mamiya 80mm D would work on the Mamiya ZD, so entry #22 is the first half of the firmware research adventure.
