SOURCES OF INFORMATION FOR LEICA-R LENSES

In the course of researching the Leica-R and Leitz-R lenses, below are some websites which proved helpful. The Leica R-system has been in use for over 40 years, so much of their history pre-dates the internet. Finding quality information is difficult and often Leica user forums are the best resource.

Much of the needed information is stored in the minds of other Leica-philes, so embracing the user forum community is often the best route - reports of firsthand experience can be invaluable. When discussing these lenses with others, be sure to clarify precisely which lens you are talking about. Many Leica-R lenses have been redesigned two, three or four times. Sometimes one version will work on Canon dSLRs, but the other versions will not. With Leica lenses attention to detail is key.
