ABOUT PEBBLE PLACE

BACKGROUND
In the 80s and 90s I took snapshots with an old Canon AT-1 SLR, a 50mm F1.8 FD and Kalimar 70-200mm zoom. Got them developed at a local discount store. Chucked the pictures in a box, and that was that. In 2001 I bought a Sony 1.3MP digicam and found the instant feedback addictive.
I soon realized 'cropped sensors' did not look like what I remembered from the film days. I bought a Canon 1Ds in 2005. Next came an endless stream of Canon, Contax and Leica lenses. By 2008 I thought things were settling down, but the next five years brought the Canon 1Ds Mark III, Leica M9, Leica M9-P, Leica S2, Phase One P30+ and P65+ Digital Backs and more lenses.
Today I use the Leica M system. Looking back, there were good decisions and plenty of bad ones. The writings on PebblePlace.com are mostly my learnings as I try this and that.
